Best Places To Live In The Antalya Region

Best Places To Live In The Antalya Region 23 June 2019

The province of Antalya lies on the beautiful Mediterranean coast, where the majestic Taurus Mountains gradually give way to small valleys, dotted with villages leading down to pristine beaches in secluded coves. It is one of the most stunning regions, not only of Turkey, but of the world. So, it is little wonder why so many people decide they want to make this piece of heaven their home. But with a number of beautiful towns to choose from, not to mention the city of Antalya itself, it becomes difficult to decide where is best. So, to help, here’s a guide to just a few of them.

The City of Antalya

In the city of Antalya itself, the areas of Konyaalti and Lara would have to be the most beautiful and most popular. Which one is better is often disputed by residents of each, but to be fair, they both have their attraction.

Konyaalti

Konyaalti stretches west from the city center, along the coast until it virtually touches the mountains. Properties in Konyaalti offer spectacular sea, mountain and city views. But apart from breathtaking views, Konyaalti offers a lifestyle. With the fabulous development of the foreshore, there are now miles of promenade to stroll, walking/running tracks for the more energetic, bike tracks, play areas and splash fountains to entertain the kids and a huge choice of cafes where you can enjoy a refreshing cold drink, sip tea, indulge yourself with normally forbidden delights and basically just watch the world go by. Not to mention the beaches running from the promenade down to the sparkling water, offering beach-lounges and umbrellas for all. Along this beautifully landscaped promenade you’ll also find the new development of the Bogacay Marina. Currently, it’s a relaxing walkway attracting birdlife to its waters, but upon its completion, it will attract ultra-luxury mega yachts from around the globe. Properties along the foreshore and marina are highly sought after and offer a lifestyle second to none.

Lara

Lara, too, is an area often chosen by residents from abroad. Also offering spectacular views, Lara runs east of the city center, largely along the cliff tops that drop dramatically to the sea. Lara’s café, restaurant and club culture makes it a vibrant part of the city, and extremely attractive to those that enjoy an active social scene. Equally though, beautiful parks make it appealing to families and Lara has all the facilities one needs and expects. Lara is also famous for its miles of white sandy beach, the clear waters, picnic areas and cafes promise a delightful day for the family.

From the airport, public transportation or taxi can easily get you to Konyaalti or Lara. Both are large areas with many suburbs so, choosing which end of the city you’d like to set up in is the first step. The closer to the sea and the more amazing the view, the more you can expect to pay but, in each you’ll find everything you’ll need and properties for sale ranging from single bedroom apartments to gorgeous villas to penthouses in luxury residences that are more like resorts than apartment buildings. If you’re lifestyle includes a gym, spa, pool, door service and covered parking, you will be spoilt for choice!

Alanya

About 85 km from Antalya, hugging its own piece of turquoise Mediterranean and nestled in front of the Taurus mountains, is the resort town of Alanya.  Here you will find everything that the larger neighbour of Antalya has to offer but perhaps in a slightly more relaxed way. There is no shortage of cafes and restaurants, and somewhere along the 10 miles of sandy white beach there is sure to be a beach-lounge and umbrella with your name on it. Getting to Alanya is easy as it has its own airport and getting around is simple either by car or public transport. Picking up your own piece of paradise will be easier here as prices are more reasonable than Antalya, yet Alanya offers everything anyone after a lifestyle change would be after. No matter your budget, you’ll find something here that suits.

Belek

And finally, Belek, famous for being Turkey’s golfing capital, it attracts people from all over the world. But of course, it takes more than just world class golf courses to get the attention of discerning buyers. What about beautiful beaches, mountains, forests, 5-star resorts, spas, shopping, restaurants, cafes, bars, archeological sites, the list goes on. If these things are enough to whet your appetite, properties in Belek are bound to entice you further. You will find everything here for every budget, even villas that’ll have you practically on the course before you’ve left your front door! Belek is a magnet to expats who want a fantastic, laid-back lifestyle with all the features of luxury living.

Of course, there are more towns in the Antalya Province, more places to tempt and entice you, but if you were to look further into the city of Antalya, Alanya or Belek, whichever you chose, it would be a winner.
